Village of Mechanicsburg Accepting Bids for Water Treatment Plant Filter Media Replacement3/24/2022 SCOPE
The contractor shall provide the following scope of work including all material, labor, and equipment required to perform the work to replace the filter media for three 7’ diameter filters located within the Village of Mechanicsburg water treatment plant. The work shall include drain down of filters, observation for signs of channeling in filter media, removal of filtration media and support gravel, visual inspection of interior coating for signs of wear or failure, inspection of influent distribution system and distributors on baffle plate, re-bedding of each filter with 50 cu ft of OEPA Approved support gravel and 96 cu ft of MARIS media, disinfection and startup of filter units once work is complete. Contractor to coordinate work with Village to ensure proper operation of the plant. Contractor will be required to submit approval letter to the OEPA-SWDO for approval of the MARIS media. The Owner will provide suitable location for disposal of the existing filter media and support gravel. Any recommendations for interior work will be made at the time of initial inspection with any additional work being approved by the owner as needed.
