Flushing is done to remove sediment from the pipes in order to maintain water clarity and quality in the distribution pipes. Your water is safe to drink. Occasionally, water becomes discolored after hydrant flushing. If this happens, run your cold water tap for a few minutes until the water clears. If it doesn't clear the first time, wait a few minutes and run the water again. You should avoid washing clothes until the water clears.
Mechanicsburg Village Council will hold a Public Meeting at 6:00 PM on Monday, December 7, 2020.
The purpose of this meeting is to solicit public comments relating to the Mechanicsburg Planning Commission's recommendation for Ordinance 20-05: Changes to the Zoning Map and Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Mechanicsburg. Copies of Ordinance 20-05 are available at the Mechanicsburg library, or by request to the Mechanicsburg Village Clerk during regular business hours. The Mechanicsburg Village Council desires to solicit public input, evaluate such public input, and then hold a vote at the regularly scheduled Council meeting starting at 6:30 PM on Monday December 7, 2020 regarding possible passage of the recommended ordinance. The Village of Mechanicsburg has begun leaf pick up. We have resurrected the leaf vacuum for now. They are using it to get the leaves out of the gutters and catch basins. Please still bag or mulch your leaves as much as possible. If not possible they will get what is in the gutter and streets with the machine. Thanks for your cooperation. There will be no brush pick up until after leaf season at the end of the month.
