Engineers Estimate $111,000.00

Sealed bids will be received by the Village of Mechanicsburg, 18 N. Main Street, Mechanicsburg, Ohio 43044 at said offices until 3pm on Friday, August 9, 2024 for the above-identified project. No late bids or FAX bids will be accepted.

Project Scope
The project work shall consist of pavement planning, overlay and base repair as provided for in the scope of work and related appurtenances and equipment, including all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the construction in accordance with the Contract Documents.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond as required by Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code in an amount equal to the sum of the bid submitted by each contractor. In lieu of posting the bond, a bidder may use a Cashier's Check, Certified Check or Letter of Credit for ten percent of the Contractor's bid as bid security. When a check or letter of credit is used, the bidder shall be required to post a 100 percent Performance Bond and a 100 percent Labor and Material Payment Bond, upon the signing of the contract.

Prevailing Wage
Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Champaign County and the Village of Mechanicsburg Ohio as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hours Division, (614)644-2239.

The Village of Mechanicsburg reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and the right to accept the lowest and best bid, the right to waiver minor irregularities on any bid, and the right to accept the bid proposal which promotes the best interest of the Village. 

Failure to submit the Bid Guaranty Bond with the bid shall be cause for considering the bid submission incomplete and for the rejection of the bid.

Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit the evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. The owner intends and requires that this project be completed no later than October 31, 2024.

The Village of Mechanicsburg is accepting applications for a part time Fiscal Clerk with the possibility of full-time employment.  Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Ohio driver’s license, experience in computer operation, a customer service focus, strong organization and attention to detail, intermediate-level accounting skills, data entry, and a desire to learn different duties within the department, including paying invoices and processing payments & bank deposits.  Must be bondable. Salary minimum wage to $21.85 per hour.
